The Egyptian Museum
The Egyptian Museum is home to the most extensive collection of ancient Egyptian artifacts. It contains over 138,000 items on display and hundreds of thousands in its basement storage rooms. It was built in 1900 in a neo classical style by the French architect Marcel Dourgnon. Some of the museum’s highlights are King Tutankhamen’s artifacts, mummies of ancient Kings and Queens, statuses, jewelry, and many other superb priceless treasures from all over Egypt.
