- Egyptians are very warm, genuinely hospitable and love to showcase their country.
- Approximately 90% of the population are Muslim and 10% Christian.
- Local men & women embrace and kiss that of the same gender. Affection between a man and woman is very private not openly displayed in public.
- Pack comfortable cotton clothing to be worn during your day tours. We highly recommend lighter colors due to the morning/afternoon heat.
- When visiting a Church, Mosque or Synagogue, please dress modestly
- Comfortable walking shoes are highly recommended.
- A scarf or a hat will come in very handy.
- Knee length skirts or capris are totally fine.
- Please check in with your airline 3 hours prior to the departure time
- Egypt Air closes their check in counters an hour prior the flight’s departure time.
- For luggage restrictions, please check your ticket or contact your airline for their policy.
- TSA regulations apply at Egyptian airport.
- Passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the end of your trip
- North Americans, most Europeans and most Asians can get an entry visa upon arrival in Egypt.
- If you don't qualify for an entry visa upon arrival, you will have to get a pre-arrival entry visa from an Egyptian Consulate in your country.
- There are no necessary inoculations before traveling to Egypt.
- We highly recommend checking with your medical provider if you need one for any specific medical reason.
- Make sure to bring your personal medications or supplements.
- Egypt’s currency is the Egyptian pound.
- The currency denominations are 1, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200.
- Current exchange rate is approximately 1 Dollar = 15.5 Egyptian Pounds.
- Exchanging foreign currenies to Egyptian pounds is much cheaper in Egypt than abroad.
- Credit cards and debit cards are accepted at all hotels and major stores. ATM machines are available in most hotels.
- United States dollars, Euros, British pounds, and Egyptian pounds are widely accepted.
- Please bring money in small denominations (1, 5, 10, 20) of your local currency to be used for shopping or tipping.
- ATMs will only give Egyptian Pounds.
- Bring large capacity memory cards.
- Photography is allowed in most temples and tombs. However, at specific locations there is a "Photography fee" or you can use the camera without flash. Your guide will inform you of any restrictions prior to your tour.
- Tripod usage incures an additional fee.
- Egyptian cuisine is very delicious and isn't spicy.
- It is very close to (Mediterreanean cuisines) Greek and Turkish.
- Different spicies are used to cook dishes, but they will be mild.
- Drink only bottled mineral water.
- Try to avoid raw vegetables for the first couple of days until your system gets used to the new bacteria.
- Peel the skin off all raw fruits and vegetables.
- If you have any dietary restriction, please notify us before your departure.

- Bargaining for a product is accepted in Egypt.

- Due to its desert climate, temperatures drop rapidly during the evening and into the night.
- Bring a hat, scarf, sunglasses, and sunscreen.
- A light jacket or sweater are highly recommended for early morning or evening/night activities.
- Egypt is 2 hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time.
- 7 hours ahead of the United States Eastern Standard Time (EST.)
- 6 hours ahead of the United States Eastern daytime Saving (EDT.)
- Voltage in Egypt is 220-240 volts/ 50 cycles.
- Wall plugs are the round two-pronged European style.
- Most new laptops and electronics are equipped to operate between 100-240 volts. Please check your devices before your departure.
- If your device only operates at 100-120 volts, a converter will be required.
